The Ron Paul Curriculum is a groundbreaking homeschool curriculum endorsed by the politician Dr. Ron Paul who has spent his career championing for the rights of the people.
This long-term congressman supports parents who believe they should have the final say in how they choose to educate their children. With homeschooling becoming an increasingly popular choice for people seeking educational alternatives to public school, it makes sense that there are also people trying to find better ways to do it.
The goal of the Ron Paul Curriculum is to give students the best and most academically rigorous education available without pushing the state’s one-size-fits-all worldview onto them.
It is also designed to teach students how to be good managers of their time and to be self disciplined. This is so that the other members of the family can be free to focus on other concerns and pursue their own interests. Not only does it offer freedom to the parents and siblings of the homeschool student, but it is a very efficient program that is easily tailored to the interests and strengths of each student. That means that everyone has more time to focus on what is important to them.
If that’s not enough to pique your interest, it is also one of the most cost effective homeschool curriculums on the market. Of course, you can make it as simple or as complex as your budget, schedule, and energy allow. In fact, during certain times or seasons, you may be putting more effort into supplementing your homeschool, and other times it may be all you can do to have your student watch the videos each day.
And, hey, that’s okay! One of the great benefits of homeschooling is that you can customize it to your needs. You can customize it to your needs even when your needs change, whether it be an unexpected life event or something that you’ve been planning for a long time. The Ron Paul Curriculum leans into this strength so that you don’t have to spend time, money or energy on anything that doesn’t benefit you or your student.
You can use the RPC as a comprehensive and complete curriculum or you can pick and choose courses to supplement a homeschool program that already works for you and your student. Either way, the Ron Paul Curriculum was designed to work with you to meet your homeschool needs and not to shove you into a box. Dr. Ron Paul is the liberty and freedom politician after all!
How RPC Works
“Okay,” you’re thinking, “I’m still reading this which means I’m at least a little interested. I still don’t exactly know what to do with the RPC.” Allow me to walk you through it!
Step 1: Go to the Ron Paul Curriculum website and purchase an annual subscription and register your account. This is your membership account that will give you access to the forums and course purchasing. You only need one username per family.
Step 2: Buy the courses that are the best suited to your student, taking into account their age, academic needs and interests. The first 5 lessons of every course are free for everyone to sample (this is without even purchasing a subscription!). After that you have a 60-day money-back guarantee on each course purchased. On top of that the first FORTY lessons of the Grade 1 Math and Grade 1 Reading courses are free to everyone!
Step 3: Each course is 180 lessons, which is the standard number of days in an academic school year and therefore meets most state requirements for school days per year. (Don’t forget to check your local requirements! There are RPC members all over the world.) Each lesson has a video lecture. Some lessons have assignments given during the lecture. Other lessons have assignments given in the text on the video page which can include printable worksheets.
Step 4: At this point it is up to you how you want to use the curriculum! The 180 lessons are designed to be split up into 36 weeks with five lessons each week. The last lesson each week is always a review. Some people like to keep it to one video each day and have Friday be their review day. I know some people who burn through multiple videos a day and others who like to spend more time on other things and spread the lessons out over the course of a year. As long as you are fulfilling legal requirements, there is no right or wrong way to do it!
